LAM Fact Sheet

LAM Action

Patients with LAM are unlikely to know anyone who has heard of LAM or who has the condition and this may lead to feelings of isolation. The UK LAM Trust was set up in 1997 following a meeting of 21 patients with LAM in Nottingham. In 2003 the name was changed to LAM Action when the association became an independent charity (registered charity number 1096637). LAM Action is a self-help group and keeps a list of patients who are happy and willing to talk to other patients. There is also a lively, informative and entertaining newsletter for members of LAM Action called the LAMPost.

The other function of the trust is to raise money for research.
